Current forecast models from the National Weather Service and others point to overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 60s for Chicago on September 17, with highs in the low-to-mid 70s under mostly cloudy skies, light northeast winds, and scattered shower chances. Persistent cloud cover and elevated moisture from recent systems limit radiative cooling overnight, keeping minimum temperatures above seasonal averages near 58°F. These conditions create tight clustering around 66-69°F outcomes in trader pricing, while any unexpected clearing or wind shift could allow greater cooling toward the 59°F-or-below bucket. Model consensus remains stable but carries typical uncertainty ranges for exact dew points and boundary-layer mixing in the final 24 hours.
