Taiwanese local elections are scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Magistrate of Penghu County as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder Magistrates appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).Chen Chen-chung leads trader consensus in the Penghu County magistrate race ahead of Taiwan’s November 28, 2026 local elections, reflecting the KMT’s formal nomination of the township head and the party’s stronger historical performance in the county. DPP support has consolidated around Wu Shu-chin after incumbent Chen Kuang-fu’s February 2026 injury sidelined his reelection bid, yet the market prices imply limited crossover appeal for the DPP ticket. Multiple independent and minor-party entrants remain priced near even money, signaling potential vote fragmentation that could narrow the frontrunner’s margin. Key upcoming catalysts include candidate registration deadlines, any KMT-DPP coordination efforts on the non-DPP side, and polling trends in Penghu’s smaller electorate, where turnout and local issues often decide narrow outcomes. Late developments such as candidate withdrawals or alliance announcements could quickly shift implied probabilities before election day.
