Recent PT leadership statements, including José Dirceu's May 12 conviction in Lula's reelection and new president Edinho Silva's alliance-building push, reinforce this path despite Lula's recent absences from party events and ongoing successor debates. At age 81, health remains a latent risk, but no major internal opposition has emerged to derail the procedural nomination process.
