The fragmented field and lack of granular polling for the Federal District have kept implied probabilities tightly clustered near 40-50% across more than two dozen candidates ahead of the October 4 first round. National surveys show President Lula (PT) holding a modest edge in the high 30s to low 40s, with Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) in the low-to-mid 30s and smaller shares for Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, and Renan Santos, yet these aggregates do not isolate Brasília’s distinct voter base of public servants and urban professionals. Recent party conventions, candidate nominations, and lingering effects from Jair Bolsonaro’s legal status have sustained a competitive environment where modest shifts in turnout or local endorsements could separate frontrunners. Trader consensus therefore reflects broad uncertainty until district-level data or late-campaign events provide clearer signals.
