Incumbent Republican Chris Hill holds a strong position in the November 3, 2026, Collin County Judge race, having secured the GOP nomination in the March primary with 78% of the vote against challenger Rick Grady. Collin County’s consistent Republican voting patterns in local contests support trader consensus around Hill’s high implied probability. His Democratic opponent, John R. “Buster” Brown, advanced unopposed in the Democratic primary. A recent 4-1 commissioners court vote approving the county’s first property tax rate increase in 33 years—opposed by Hill, who advocated spending cuts instead—highlighted his fiscal conservatism just weeks before the general election. No other candidates have emerged to alter the two-candidate matchup or shift positioning.
