Yegor Kovalchuk holds a commanding lead in the Bryansk Oblast gubernatorial election market as the acting governor appointed by President Putin in May 2026 following Alexander Bogomaz's resignation. United Russia nominated him in June after internal party procedures, and he completed registration alongside four other candidates in July. The race coincides with federal legislative voting on 18–20 September, with Kovalchuk backed by the dominant ruling party structure and incumbency advantages typical in Russian regional contests. Opposition nominees from CPRF, LDPR, A Just Russia, and New People face structural barriers in candidate registration, municipal filters, and voter mobilization. Trader consensus at 95.7% reflects these institutional alignments, though late developments such as turnout shifts or administrative issues could still influence final tallies before resolution.
