Persistent marine layer influence and an incoming weather system are anchoring trader expectations for San Francisco's September 3 high temperature near the seasonal average of 70°F. Official National Weather Service guidance and multiple forecast models indicate mostly cloudy skies with drizzle or light rain likely, limiting solar heating and keeping daytime maxima in the mid-to-upper 60s under southwest flow. This setup aligns with recent below-normal trends driven by onshore winds and elevated humidity, though slight model spread around peak timing and marine stratus clearance leaves room for modest warming into the low 70s. Historical September highs average near 70°F, providing context for the market's concentration on the 68–71°F range as the most probable outcome.
