In the La Prairie riding for Quebec’s October 5, 2026, provincial election, the race remains closely contested among the Coalition Avenir Québec’s Pierre Guillot-Hurtubise, Québec solidaire’s Francine van Winden, the Parti Québécois’ Frédéric Côté, and the Quebec Liberal Party’s Sonia Ziadé. The absence of an incumbent after Christian Dubé’s departure, combined with the campaign’s early phase following the August 27 writ, sustains tight trader consensus around the leading contenders. Provincial polling shows the PQ ahead overall while the CAQ recovers in suburban Montreal ridings like this one, yet local momentum has not consolidated. Further separation could emerge from riding-specific polls, candidate visibility during the 39-day campaign, regional turnout patterns, or shifts in broader party standings on issues such as housing and immigration.
