The closely matched trader consensus around 45–50% for leading candidates in Maskinongé reflects the competitive dynamics of this Mauricie riding following the August 27 writ drop for the October 5 Quebec general election. Incumbent Simon Allaire reversed an earlier retirement decision to run again for the CAQ, facing Isabelle Blais of the Parti Québécois, former mayor Nancy Mignault for the Liberals, Simon Piotte for Québec solidaire, and Marc-André Cloutier for the Conservatives, plus an independent. Limited riding-specific polling, the new provincial leadership lineup, and the short campaign window keep outcomes uncertain, with local issues and turnout patterns likely to determine separation before advance voting begins September 27.
