This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 2 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zhhh If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event which there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Trader sentiment for Wuhan's September 2, 2026 minimum temperature centers on the 21–24°C range, with market-implied probabilities clustered tightly around 46–50.5% for outcomes from 20–24°C.** This reflects aggregated forecasts from multiple meteorological models showing a narrow band of possible overnight lows under similar synoptic conditions. Key drivers include persistent cloud cover and moderate northerly winds (3–5 levels with gusts to 6–7) linked to a typhoon inverted trough, which limit radiative cooling and promote mixing that prevents sharp temperature drops. Higher dew points and humidity (often 50–95%) further moderate overnight cooling, while any evening precipitation adds latent heat and insulation. Clearer or calmer conditions would allow greater surface heat loss and lower minima, but current observations and short-range guidance favor a stabilized floor near 21–23°C. Model consensus and recent observational trends—such as morning lows already near 23°C amid overcast skies—support the tight clustering of leading probabilities. Minor variations in exact cloud timing, wind gust strength, or localized urban effects could shift the recorded minimum by 1–2°C, explaining why probabilities remain closely matched rather than dominated by a single outcome. Official agency updates and next model runs will likely refine this further as the night progresses.
