Incumbent Democrat Suzan DelBene holds a commanding position in Washington’s 1st congressional district, a seat covering parts of the northern Seattle metro area with a strong Democratic partisan lean. The August 2026 top-two primary confirmed this advantage, as DelBene advanced comfortably ahead of Republican Mary Silva, who will face her in the November general election. Cook Political Report rates the contest Solid Democratic, reflecting the district’s voting history and limited Republican infrastructure. Trader consensus reflected in current pricing aligns with these structural factors, including DelBene’s multiple prior re-elections and the absence of major recent developments that would alter the balance. Late-cycle national shifts in turnout or unforeseen candidate-specific events remain the primary variables that could narrow the gap before Election Day.
