Recent polls for the September 20, 2026 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election show the AfD holding a stable lead near 35-36 percent, while the SPD has consolidated second place at 28-29 percent and widened its margin over the Linke, CDU, and smaller parties. This positioning, reinforced by the latest Infratest dimap and INSA surveys, drives trader consensus that the SPD will finish second, reflected in its dominant market share. The CDU’s continued decline to single digits and limited movement among other contenders have kept alternative second-place scenarios at negligible implied probabilities. With roughly six weeks until election day, any shift in SPD momentum or AfD consolidation could still alter the ranking, though current trends favor continuity in the top two.
