The resolution source for this market will be information from Wunderground, specifically the highest temperature recorded for all times on this day by the Forecast for the Cape Town International Airport Station once information is finalized, available here: https://www.wunderground.com/history/daily/za/matroosfontein/FACT. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the gear icon next to the search bar and switch the Temperature setting between °F and °C. This market can not resolve to "Yes" until all data for this date has been finalized. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is finalized for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Current ensemble forecasts from the South African Weather Service and global models indicate a daily maximum near 20–21°C for Cape Town on May 17, driven by stable post-frontal conditions with light southerly winds and partial cloud cover that limit daytime heating. Mid-May solar angles and the moderating influence of Atlantic maritime air keep temperatures close to the climatological average of 18–19°C, while any earlier clearing or reduced wind could allow brief warming toward 21°C. Recent model runs show tight agreement on these outcomes, with sea-breeze convergence near Table Mountain adding only minor microscale uncertainty. Traders price the 20°C and 21°C brackets highest because final resolution depends on official SAWS observations at Cape Town International Airport, expected after 16:00 SAST tomorrow.
