Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is finalized for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Trader consensus has locked in 18°C as the highest temperature in Cape Town on May 14 at 100% implied probability, driven by official observations from the South African Weather Service (SAWS) and Cape Town International Airport (FACT) METAR reports showing peak readings of 18°C mid-afternoon under partly cloudy skies and moderate south-westerly winds. Following disruptive heavy rainfall and a cold front earlier in the week (May 11–13), today's cool autumn conditions— with morning fog patches clearing to hazy sunshine—align with climatological May averages of 20–22°C but capped by persistent cloud cover and sea breeze influences. New evening METARs or final SAWS daily summary could confirm, though a late heat burst exceeding 19°C remains highly unlikely given solar angle decline post-17:00 SAST sunset and stable atmospheric profiles.
