Morocco’s parliamentary elections on September 23 will determine the largest party in the House of Representatives, from which King Mohammed VI appoints the next prime minister under Article 47. The outgoing RNI-led coalition faces a competitive field that includes PAM and Istiqlal, with RNI now headed by Mohamed Chaouki after Aziz Akhannouch stepped down as party leader. Potential heads of government include Fouzi Lekjaa, who recently joined PAM while retaining his budget and football federation roles, and Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri of PAM. Traders price the outcome near even odds across multiple names because no party holds a decisive polling edge, economic concerns such as employment and living costs remain salient, and coalition negotiations after the vote could shift the final selection. Late campaign developments or turnout patterns among registered voters could quickly alter the implied probabilities.
