This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Kuala Lumpur Intl Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 4 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=wmkk If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Recent official forecasts and model consensus position 33–34°C as the most probable peak temperatures for Kuala Lumpur on September 4, 2026, aligning closely with trader-implied odds.** Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) guidance issued September 2 projects a maximum of 35°C under partly cloudy conditions with afternoon thunderstorms, while several global and regional models cluster daily highs between 31–33°C amid persistent moisture and convective activity. September climatology features mean daily maxima near 32–33°C (historical baselines from 1991–2020 normals), with high humidity (70–85%) and frequent showers that often limit extreme heating through evaporative cooling and cloud cover. Current conditions show lingering haze (jerebu) and thunderstorm patterns that have kept recent peaks at 31–33°C, reducing the likelihood of sustained 35°C+ readings unless clearer skies and weaker convection develop. The modest probability assigned to 35°C reflects residual uncertainty in afternoon instability and steering patterns, while outcomes below 32°C remain low-probability given the seasonal baseline and limited cooling mechanisms. Updated model runs and official briefings over the next 24–48 hours will provide the key data shifts likely to influence final resolution.
