**Forecast guidance from the National Weather Service and private models points to a minimum temperature in the low 70s at Chicago O’Hare on August 30, 2026, with the 72–73 °F and 70–71 °F bins commanding the highest market-implied probabilities.** A southerly to southwesterly flow is advecting warm, moist air ahead of a weak disturbance, while partly to mostly cloudy skies and a 20–30 % chance of showers limit nocturnal radiative cooling. This keeps overnight lows well above the 1991–2020 climatological average of ~64 °F. Model consensus shows little spread in the 70–74 °F range, with the exact minimum hinging on the timing of any showers and boundary-layer mixing; traders appear to weigh these variables evenly between the two leading outcomes while discounting colder or much warmer scenarios given the persistent warm anomaly.
