Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and ensemble models indicate Atlanta’s overnight low on September 17 will likely fall in the upper 60s to low 70s under clear skies and light easterly winds. A strong high-pressure ridge and dry air mass are suppressing cloud cover and moisture, allowing efficient radiational cooling after sunset while dew points near 64–68°F set a practical floor. Subtle differences among model runs in wind speed, boundary-layer mixing, and exact timing of peak cooling explain the tight clustering of market-implied probabilities around 66–71°F bins. Traders are weighting recent guidance showing 67–70°F most frequently, with minor forecast revisions able to shift the final minimum by 1–2°F before dawn.
