Ongoing negotiations between Vetëvendosje and the Democratic League of Kosovo over a consensus candidate drive the tight market for Kosovo’s next president, who must secure an 80-vote supermajority in the 120-seat Assembly by early October. Recent talks between Albin Kurti and Lumir Abdixhiku have shifted from broad principles to concrete names after parliamentary elections left no single party with enough seats for unilateral control, while other opposition groups remain largely disengaged. Multiple figures, including Arianit Koci, Veton Surroi, Albulena Haxhiu, and several independents, trade at similar levels because any viable nominee requires cross-party backing to avoid another snap vote. Further meetings or endorsements could quickly consolidate support around one contender.

This market will resolve to the next individual who begins a full, non-acting term as President of Kosovo after April 4, 2026.
To count for resolution, the individual must be elected President by the Assembly of Kosovo and take the presidential oath before the Assembly. Serving as acting, interim, or caretaker President alone will not count toward the resolution of this market, regardless of any change in who exercises those duties.
If no such President takes office by April 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
The primary resolution sources for this market will be official information from the Assembly of Kosovo and the Office of the President of Kosovo; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
