Ensemble spread in boundary-layer moisture and exact timing of peak heating keeps the three leading buckets—28 °C, 29 °C, and 30 °C or higher—within a few percentage points of one another. This setup represents a clear positive departure from mid-May climatology of roughly 23 °C, driven by the ridge’s persistence rather than any transient disturbance. Traders are watching the final model runs and surface observations for subtle changes in cloud cover or wind that could nudge the peak by one or two degrees before resolution.
