In the Saint-François riding, the Quebec general election on October 5 features a tight contest among established parties, with PQ candidate Sylvie Tanguay and incumbent CAQ MNA Geneviève Hébert holding the strongest implied probabilities near 43 percent while Liberal Jacqueline Belleau and Québec solidaire’s Mia Fréchette sit lower around 26.5 percent. The race remains closely balanced due to the short campaign timeline that began August 27, shifting provincial trends favoring the PQ under Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, and local dynamics in this francophone riding where CAQ support has softened from its 2022 peak. Voter turnout patterns, candidate visibility during the nomination period ending September 17, and any targeted appearances by party leaders could quickly widen gaps among frontrunners, while late provincial polling shifts or riding-specific issues such as economic priorities may further consolidate support for one contender over others.
