Redistricting under California's new map has consolidated the Sacramento-area CA-06 district with a pronounced Democratic tilt, reflected in forecaster ratings of Solid D or Safe D and a recent poll showing Democrat Richard Pan ahead of independent incumbent Kevin Kiley. Kiley, who switched from the Republican Party while continuing to caucus with House Republicans, advanced from the June 2026 top-two primary alongside Pan after multiple Democrats split the vote. Traders assign the Democratic Party a 94% implied probability of winning the November general election, consistent with the district's partisan composition and limited pathways for a Republican-aligned candidate. Potential shifts could arise from national political swings, major candidate-specific developments, or unusually high turnout patterns before the November 3 resolution date.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
