The upcoming December 6, 2026 legislative election in Guinea-Bissau remains tightly contested among leading coalitions and parties because the transitional military government has overseen a fragmented field since the 2025 coup annulled prior results. Platforma Republicana “Nô Kumpu Guiné” holds the highest implied probability at 29.8 percent, followed closely by FREPASNA at 20.8 percent, with PT and others trailing, reflecting uncertainty over how the August 2026 constitutional referendum—approved by roughly 70 percent—will reshape alliances, seat allocation in the reduced 65-member assembly, and voter mobilization ahead of the vote. Fresh endorsements, coalition realignments, or official campaign restrictions could widen gaps, while low turnout or disputes over eligibility rules under the new charter might keep probabilities compressed until closer to election day.
