This market will resolve according to the winner of the Democratic Primary for Governor of Vermont, scheduled to take place on August 11, 2026. Resolution will be based on the overall winner of the primary, including any potential second round or run-off. If no 2026 Vermont Gubernatorial Democratic Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the Vermont Democratic Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Aly Richards has emerged as the clear frontrunner in Vermont’s Democratic gubernatorial primary on August 11, driven by her April 2026 campaign launch that emphasized child care funding, housing costs, and health care access as priorities for addressing the state’s affordability challenges, drawing on her background as former CEO of Let’s Grow Kids and prior service in the Shumlin administration. State Treasurer Mike Pieciak’s limited support stems from his ongoing consideration of a gubernatorial bid without a formal announcement, while Attorney General Charity Clark’s May 4 re-election decision and Esther Charlestin’s January shift to the lieutenant governor race have sharply reduced their viability. The approaching May 28 filing deadline remains a key procedural factor that could influence the final field ahead of the primary.
