Remote meetings, phone calls, or other meetings where the relevant parties are not present will not count. The resolution sources for this market will be official information from the governments of the United States and Iran, and a consensus of credible reporting.U.S. Vice President JD Vance has played a central role in ongoing negotiations with Iran aimed at ending hostilities and securing verifiable limits on Tehran's nuclear program. Following an initial round of talks in Islamabad in April 2026 that produced no agreement after 21 hours, Vance stated on May 13 that discussions continue to advance, though President Trump has rejected Iran's most recent proposal as insufficient. These high-level engagements, the first of their kind in decades, center on Iran's willingness to accept safeguards against nuclear weapons development. Further rounds remain possible depending on responses to U.S. demands, with any direct Vance-Iran meeting hinging on progress in these bilateral diplomatic channels and alignment with White House red lines.
