The crowded Tocantins Senate field for the two seats up on October 4 features more than a dozen viable candidates from parties including PL, MDB, UNIÃO, PODE, and Republicanos, producing closely matched probabilities for second place. Fragmentation stems from recent candidate decisions such as an incumbent's withdrawal from re-election and the absence of a single standout in state polling, which leaves traders pricing multiple names—including Eduardo Gomes, Alexandre Guimarães, Carlos Gaguim, Ronaldo Dimas, Vanderlei Luxemburgo, and Eli Borges—within a narrow band. National dynamics between the Lula and Bolsonaro-aligned camps add crosscurrents but have not consolidated support locally. Remaining weeks of campaigning, debates, and late endorsements could realign preferences and widen gaps ahead of the first-past-the-post contest.
