Incumbent Democratic Representative Sylvia Garcia’s primary victory in March 2026 and the district’s strong partisan lean anchor trader consensus around a Democratic win in the November 3 general election. Texas redistricting produced a new map, yet TX-29 retains a Cook Political Report Solid D rating and PVI near D+17, consistent with its Houston-area voting history and Garcia’s prior margins. Republican nominee Martha Fierro faces limited visibility and resources against an established incumbent. The resulting 94.5% implied probability reflects these structural advantages and the absence of competitive polling or fundraising signals. Late developments such as an incumbent scandal, sharply depressed Democratic turnout, or an unusually strong national Republican surge remain the main scenarios that could narrow the outcome before Election Day.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
