Morocco’s parliamentary elections on September 23 will determine the party that supplies the next prime minister, whom the king appoints under Article 47 from the leading formation in the House of Representatives. Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, coordinator of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), holds a narrow market edge as her party campaigns aggressively on modernization and local governance records, while the incumbent National Rally of Independents (RNI) under Mohamed Chaouki defends its position. Fouzi Lekjaa’s recent PAM affiliation adds visibility but does not clarify internal leadership choices. With polls banned close to voting day, turnout uncertain, and historical coalition patterns persisting, traders see limited separation among top options until results clarify seat totals and subsequent royal selection.
