This market will resolve according to the winner of the Democratic primary election for the mayor of Washington D.C., scheduled to be held June 16, 2026. If no 2026 D.C. Democratic Mayoral Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the D.C. Democratic Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Trader consensus favors Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George at 63.5% to win the June 16 Democratic primary for D.C. mayor, reflecting her early campaign launch in December 2025, progressive endorsements from groups like GLAA and Capital Stonewall Democrats, and strong showings in recent straw polls and forums. Former Ward 5 Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie trails at 34.5% with backing from business and real estate interests, amid intensifying ad wars and fact-checked attacks over issues like policing and sports betting in the past week. Incumbent Muriel Bowser's November 2025 decision not to seek reelection opened the field to over a dozen candidates, but others remain longshots absent major shifts before early voting ramps up.
