Lula maintains a commanding position in Alagoas first-round preferences, with recent state-level polling from institutes including Real Time Big Data and Quaest showing him at 44-50% against Flávio Bolsonaro's 29-31%, well ahead of other tested names such as Renan Santos, Ronaldo Caiado, and Augusto Cury. This aligns with longstanding voter patterns in the Northeast, where Lula's party has drawn consistent support in presidential contests. Traders appear to view the gap as durable absent major shifts in turnout, alliances, or late developments before the October vote. Scenarios that could narrow the margin include stronger regional mobilization by opposition candidates, changes in national economic conditions affecting local sentiment, or unexpected coalition realignments that boost a challenger in the state.
