Recent polling averages show Die Linke narrowly ahead of the CDU in voting intentions for the September 20 Berlin Abgeordnetenhaus election, reflecting urban voter preferences and dissatisfaction with the incumbent CDU-SPD coalition. The CDU’s lead candidate change has not produced a clear rebound, while AfD support remains contained below 20 percent amid Berlin’s demographic profile. With no party approaching a majority, coalition arithmetic and turnout among left-leaning and centrist blocs remain central to which party secures the largest share. Traders price the contest as competitive between the top two, sensitive to any late shifts in Green or SPD preferences and national momentum heading into the final weeks.
