Fuerza Popular secured a clear plurality in Peru’s April 12-13 Senate election, the first under the restored bicameral legislature, claiming 22 of 60 seats according to near-final ONPE tallies. This outcome aligns with voter priorities on security and economic stability that also propelled the party’s presidential candidate into the June runoff, outpacing Juntos por el Perú at 14 seats and Renovación Popular at 8. Official results have been reinforced by JNE rulings that rejected fraud claims from rival parties, leaving little procedural uncertainty before congressional installation. Only a successful legal challenge demonstrating widespread irregularities could still alter the seat distribution.
