Sweden Democrats hold a strong lead in recent polling averages for second place in the September 2026 Riksdag election, consistently placing ahead of the Moderate Party at roughly 19-20% support compared with 17-18% for the Moderates. Social Democrats remain the clear frontrunner near 32-34%, while smaller parties trail further behind. This positioning reflects stable trends through mid-2026 surveys from sources including SCB and Novus, with Sweden Democrats showing modest gains or resilience amid bloc competition between the incumbent Tidö alliance and opposition Red-Greens. The Moderate Party has seen limited movement or slight declines in the same period, leaving little indication of a reversal before election day. Traders price in these sustained patterns when assessing second-place probabilities.
