This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Democratic Party to contest the NH-02 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Democratic primary will take place on September 8, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Democratic sources, including https://democrats.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market.Incumbent Maggie Goodlander holds a commanding lead in the New Hampshire 2nd Congressional District Democratic primary, set for September 8, 2026, driven by her status as the sitting representative, substantial fundraising edge exceeding $4 million compared to challengers' far smaller hauls, and established party and national connections. Recent polling from late August showed her ahead by roughly 40 points with limited undecided voters, consistent with her 2024 primary performance. State Representative Paige Beauchemin, the main opponent, has positioned herself as a progressive alternative emphasizing working-class issues, but lacks comparable resources or visibility. Trader consensus in the market reflects these structural advantages for the incumbent, though an unusually low-turnout scenario or unforeseen late development in the final days could theoretically narrow the gap before polls close.
