Sweden's September 13 parliamentary election delivered preliminary results showing Vänsterpartiet with approximately 8.4% of the vote and 559,618 ballots compared to Miljöpartiet's 6.1% and 409,320 ballots, establishing a clear lead once over 99% of districts were counted. Pre-election polling had already positioned the Left Party ahead of the Greens by similar margins, reflecting steady voter preferences within the red-green bloc amid the broader shift toward the centre-left opposition. With final tallies from late and overseas ballots unlikely to close the roughly 150,000-vote gap, trader consensus reflects the confirmed outcome. Only an unprecedented recount error or widespread invalidation of ballots could alter the result at this stage.
