Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads the market at 89% as leader of the Parti Québécois, which holds a consistent polling advantage heading into the October 5 Quebec provincial election. Recent surveys place the PQ near 29% support amid voter fatigue with the incumbent Coalition Avenir Québec, positioning the party for a likely plurality or minority government. Christine Fréchette of the CAQ trails at 6% amid ongoing campaign attacks and internal pressures, while Charles Milliard of the Liberals sits at 3.7% in a fragmented field. Discussions of potential PQ-Conservative alignment on fiscal issues have surfaced in recent days but have not shifted the frontrunner status, with Plamondon emphasizing issue-by-issue cooperation over formal pacts. Trader consensus reflects the PQ's path to premiership through current seat projections and limited viable alternatives in the final campaign weeks.
